Ferenc Cellar

Our family-run business has been welcoming lovers of Hungarian cuisine and Hungarian wines for 37 years now. 

Since the end of the 17th century, the ancient Tihany wine cellar, together with a deep respect for and love of grapes and wine, has been passed down from generation to generation within our family. Building on this heritage, we established our family business, which specialises in winemaking and hospitality. We produce our wines exclusively from grapes grown in the historic Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region; thanks to the wonderful climate of Lake Balaton, these are quality wines with a distinctive bouquet and flavour profile.
At our winery, our wines are primarily produced from the wine region’s most characteristic white grape varieties, using careful and expert winemaking techniques, and are complemented by rosé and red wines from the Tihany Peninsula.

Preserving traditions and nurturing the wine culture of the Balaton Uplands are an integral part of our family’s daily life, and as a result of this dedicated work, visitors to our wine centre – which opened in 2001 – can gain an insight into the history of viticulture and winemaking through ancient tools and gain an insight into the history of viticulture and winemaking. During the wine tasting, in addition to a professional wine presentation, we provide a brief introduction to the grape-growing and wine culture of the Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region.

Our restaurant’s menu features an unmissable selection of fish from Lake Balaton, fish soup, and Hungarian specialities made from grey cattle and Mangalica pork.
